Future Materials Campus

A unique and exciting opportunity for the UK to push forward its expertise in science and technology, and secure the UK’s position as a global leader in nuclear technologies. The Future Materials Campus (FMC) programme will renew existing facilities for the manufacture and storage of nuclear components, improve science and analysis capabilities, and invest in new capabilities for nuclear material recovery.

Value creation

FMC will contribute to the UK’s economy and skills development, with many new and exciting jobs created locally and across our supply chains.

Building together

Our communities provide us with apprentices, graduates and many other workers who, in turn, use local businesses and facilities.

Deterrence

Maintaining the UK’s nuclear deterrent is as important now as it has ever been. It requires a truly national endeavour.
