Our 2040 vision is to almost halve our carbon emissions from site heating and electricity in line with science-based targets as an important intermediate step to our 2050 goal.
We have devised a comprehensive roadmap to achieve net zero by 2050 and identified six areas of focus to help target reducing emissions across our business. Working closely with teams from across the company, we now have plans in place across each area to drive reductions and monitor progress.
Our Carbon Management Plan underpins our work in this area
Our areas of focus
Sources of energy
Minimise carbon emissions through the source and supply of energy. All our purchased electricity is from renewable sources, and we are exploring opportunities for entering into Purchased Power Agreements and investing in on-site renewables.
Built environment
Ensure our entire estate is as energy efficient as possible
Transport & travel
Find and encourage sustainable ways to travel for all employees
Climate adaptation
Understand and adjust to the impacts of climate change.
Leadership & culture
Create a culture of care to drive sustainability.
Supply chain
Reduce carbon emissions through sustainable procurement.
