THE QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED
Five GCSE’s at Grade 4/C or above to include Maths and English.
Applicants must be aged 18 or over, as of 31st August 2026, due to security clearance requirements.
You’ll need to be a British Citizen for security clearance.

Your primary place of work will be one of AWE’s sites, depending on the apprenticeship programme you apply for. Details of the expected work location will be provided within the individual vacancy information.
Your apprenticeship will include off-the-job training as required by the apprenticeship standard. The format and frequency of training will vary depending on the programme and training provider.
At AWE, we operate on a nine-day fortnight – meaning you get every other Friday off work in addition to 270 hours of annual leave.

Being a Quality Practitioner Apprentice is a varied and exciting career, with each day being different to the next; from facilitating risk prevention events, undertaking audits through to using innovative solutions to solve significant business problems and drive continuous improvement.
Through a series of placements within the Quality function, you will gain experience of the management and review of the companies processes and procedures and their use. Using this experience, you will ensure we fulfil our contractual and regulatory requirements of our customers and stakeholders through quality planning, quality assurance, quality control and continuous improvement activities.


This role is a great fit if you have an eye for detail, an interest in improving things and have a hands-on approach to problem solving. You might find it rewarding if you have a logical approach to understanding processes and enjoy understanding their application in the real world.
