Barry Hunter

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) & Deputy Chief Executive

Barry joined AWE in October 2021 as Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, Barry’s primary accountability is to lead all aspects of AWE plc’s Financial, Commercial and Business Management (Project Controls), and Supply Chain activities.

Barry is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant in England and Wales and has an honours degree in Accountancy and Finance from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh.

Following an early career in banking, Barry held senior roles in several large infrastructure projects including the Thames Tideway Tunnel project in London and the ElecLink interconnector project joining the UK and France high voltage electricity networks. Prior to joining AWE, Barry was Chief Financial Officer of Luton Airport.

Barry lives in South West London with his wife and two children. He remains a keen sports person, playing and watching as many sports as family and work allows.
