World Environment Day -design a bug hotel

To celebrate World Environment Day on June 5, AWE has invited year 4 and 5 pupils to take part in a creative challenge. This year’s theme is biodiversity and children from North Hampshire and West Berkshire are invited to submit their design for a bug hotel.

There are prizes to be won and those up for the challenge will need to research, design and build a structure. Once the bug hotel has been created then pictures and a design overview can be submitted for judging.

Information packs with competition details have already been sent to schools in the local area through two education charities, Education Business Partnership, West Berkshire and Basingstoke Consortium.

Entries can be submitted from school or home emails directly to [email protected]. The closing date is 22 June and prize winners  will be announced for individual winners from each year group. Also for every entry received AWE will be making a donation to its charity partner Thrive.
