Gender Pay Gap Report
AWE has published its third gender pay gap report. All UK companies with more than 250 employees are required to publish this report annually, and our 2020 report shows that our median gender pay gap is 18.6%. This represents an increase compared to last year’s 15%, and is broadly in line with the current national average gap of 17.3%.
Although it is disappointing to see the gender pay gap moving in the wrong direction, we have set ambitious targets with our recruitment and development programmes to address the imbalance. This includes a target of increasing the representation of women at new hire for 2020; mandatory inclusion training for hiring managers; having female candidates at all stages of the recruitment process for the senior role hiring process; and improved communications and support to female candidates during the on boarding process.
Iain Coucher reiterated the Board and Executive Team’s commitment to closing the gender pay gap and driving gender equality: “At AWE, we are passionate about developing talent. As part of this, we remain committed to increasing the number of women in our workforce year on year, and addressing the imbalances that gender pay gap reporting exposes.”
